Stuffed Mushrooms
Stuffed mushrooms, whether stuffed with sausage, crab, or cream cheese, are always a huge hit for both casual and formal gatherings.
Stuffed mushrooms are an excellent hot appetizer to serve before or with a meal or along a buffet style spread. There are many different recipes for stuffed mushrooms, and different fillings include crab, sausage, cream cheese, and many others. They are relatively easy to make, but your guests will think they took a lot of work! Here are some of our tried and true favorites below:
Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms
You Will Need:
1 pound Italian Sausage, cooked, crumbled, and drained
1/2 cup frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained, or fresh spinach finely chopped
1/4 cup Italian bread crumb seasoning
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 egg, lightly beaten
50 white mushrooms, washed and with stems removed (You may need less or more depending on the size of the mushrooms)
Directions:
Combine crumbled sausage, spinach, Italian bread crumbs, egg, garlic powder and Parmesan cheese together to form stuffing. Carefully spoon a generous amount of stuffing into each mushroom cap and arrange on a shallow baking pan. Bake in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for 10-12 minutes or until the tops are a nice golden color.
Crab Stuffed Mushrooms Recipe
You Will Need:
24 fresh mushrooms
1 green onion, finely minced
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 cup chopped cooked crab meat (You can use canned, vacuum packed, imitation, etc.)
1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 teaspoon dill weed
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions:
Combine melted butter, egg, crab meat, bread crumbs, egg, dill weed, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese together in a bowl to form the stuffing mixture. Carefully spoon stuffing into the mushrooms. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 10-12 minutes or until tops are golden.
Cream Cheese and Bacon Stuffed Mushrooms
You Will Need:
40-50 mushrooms, stems removed (again, size will factor in how many mushrooms you will actually need)
1 package cream cheese, softened
1 green onion, chopped finely
1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup bacon crumbles or real bacon bits
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Directions:
Mix cream cheese, green onion, bread crumbs, garlic powder, shredded cheddar cheese, and bacon bits together. Carefully spoon mixture into each mushroom cap. If desired, top with additional cheddar cheese. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 10-12 minutes or until tops are golden.
Ridiculously Easy Stuffed Mushrooms
You Will Need:
2 cups of prepared stuffing mix, any flavor (ie: StoveTop)
30 mushrooms, stems removed
Directions:
Scoop prepared stuffing mix into the mushroom caps lined on a shallow baking pan. Bake for 10-12 minutes in a 350 oven until tops are lightly browned.
